Our Quality

At Del Monte, our dedication to cultivating quality vegetables and fruits  runs deep. We nurture our crops with care on multigenerational farms, preserving the wholesome goodness reminiscent of homegrown produce.

Our delicious and nutritious harvest is sourced from a network of farms across the United States. In the sunny San Joaquin Valley, plump and succulent peaches signal the arrival of summer. Meanwhile, our tomatoes ripen within a 50-mile radius of our solar-powered facility in the same region. In Plover, Wisconsin, vast fields of green beans stretch as far as the eye can see. And in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, our corn grows naturally sweet, eliminating the need for added sugar.

Approximately 95% of our food is grown on American soil, traveling an average of fewer than 100 miles from farm to processing facility. We collaborate closely with our growers on various initiatives to promote healthy and sustainable crop production while minimizing environmental impact.

For instance, our seed program, established in 1923, has enabled us to develop resilient varieties that demand less water and fewer pesticides. By leveraging innovative growing techniques, such as those employed for our Blue Lake green beans, we’ve achieved nearly a 200% increase in yields, contributing to conservation efforts for land, water, and energy resources.

These supportive programs have fostered enduring relationships with our farmers, some of whom have been supplying Del Monte fruits and vegetables for over 40 years. Many of these farms have been passed down through four or even five generations.

“Our collaboration with Del Monte goes beyond mere business transactions. It’s a longstanding partnership built on mutual effort and dedication,” remarks Allen Mize, our Director of Agricultural and Technical Service.
